AltRider Crash Bars for the BMW F 800 GS

Rough terrain can get the better of anyone, which is why we designed the AltRider Crash Bars for the BMW F 800 GS. Made from one inch stainless steel, it is sure to protect your engine in a fall.

These crash bars provide extensive coverage for the F 800 GS, guarding not only the engine itself but also the radiator and front plastics.

The bars are built with precision-manufactured mounts that fit directly into the existing motor mount, creating a robust connection that is secured with existing OEM fasteners on the top engine mounts. Torx fasteners are provided for the bottom mounts.

Unlike other crash bars, these do not use flanges or weak tabs and are not hung: they are actually mounted. Crafted with hand TIG welding and a shot peen satin finish, these stainless bars will hold up in spills and never even show signs of rust.

Protect your clutch cover, radiator, and front fairings with the system that doesn’t deflect or bend.

Also available in Black.

Compatible with BMW large enduro skid plate
Not currently compatible with Remus header

NOTE: Your t50 socket must be able to fit inside a 0.7” ID tube 1” deep. All ½” drive sockets will be too big to fit, as will some 3/8” drive sockets. An L-handle T-50 key is the easiest solution.

Crash Bars & Skid Plate

Ordered Crash Bars & Skid Plate on November 17 and they were delivered on November 23,2010 Arrived all wrapped and in plastic for protection. The instructions were very good. I put on both products without any trouble. Good quality and fit very nice. My wife even commented they sure look nice on the white 800GS. I purchased both items in Black. Skid Plate does not have to be removed for oil and filter change. I have been riding since 1959, owned many different bikes, always added items to the bikes and the quality of these Crash Bars & Skid Plate are second to none.

The best crash bars for your F800 GS

I researched a lot of bars before ordering, most looked good but to me all the bars I saw had some weakness. Too tall, too wide, poor fitment, or iffy mounts. I read reports of bars that bent on impact and some that added to vibrations. The Altrider product combined the best features of the others with the best mounting system. I've used stainless crash bars before and I like the durability and strength of SS. Stout material, easy fitment and they look great! They are the best!
