Show us what makes a bike THE bike.

Airborne!

Airborne!

The way I see it, any bike that can achieve this kind of air is A-OK in my book. But a 500lb, 1200cc Behemoth doing it? Well that's just BADASS. (and yes, he landed it just fine ;o)

Knee dragging to Stump jumping

A stock R1200GS is "THE BIKE" for me. I can be dragging knees on the way to the dirt. What more can you ask for. Both photos taken during the 2009 Sound Rider Dual Sport Rally only a day apart.

1966 BMW R60 /2

1966 BMW R60 /2

This is my wife, Jen, having a look at our /2 the day it came back home after a full restoration. We came to own this bike when a friend in town told us about it. We had thought about getting a classic BMW. This one was available locally and is the same vintage as me, 1966. It seemed to fall into place. Then we had MAX BMW do a full restoration when it needed some repair work. Might as well put it back to original condition, we figured, since the motor would be out anyway. We really love this bike. Looking forward to many years riding it.
Racing the storm

Racing the storm

I planned on riding north to find more twisty roads, until I saw this storm rolling in. I stopped to figure out where I was and snapped this photo. This photo partially explains why this is THE bike... It's the perfect bike to go around and find curvy roads, but when it's about to hit the fan, the 1125R can outrun the storm. In addition, the Buell is as menacing as the clouds.
