Cascading waterfalls amongst lush moss covered trees, twisting gravel roads, glacier fed waterfalls, with the snow peaked mountains as the perfect scenic backdrop. This beautiful scenery awaits in one of the last remaining temperate rainforests in the northern hemisphere. Join AltRider in the middle of Washington’s perfect summer on August 24-26 for the Hoh Rainforest Ride. Camp out amidst the lavish forests, dine on divine Native American cuisine, learn new techniques at off-highway riding clinic and experience epic terrain while enjoying spectacular routes along Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula. Whether you’re new to the off-road or an expert rider, this event will have something for everybody to enjoy.

This exciting 3-day event kicks off from the AltRider office in Seattle to the Olympic peninsula via ferry, catching the beautiful Skyline as we go off onto our adventure. We’ll be riding to our campsite with a delicious dinner prepared by Mary from the Skokomish Tribe. The campfire will be burning bright and we’ll crack open a keg of Manny’s with anticipation for the riding adventure coming the next day.
Saturday- Eat a hearty breakfast and break into groups based on skill level for a staggered GPS self-led ride. After a riders meeting and brief training seminar, head out onto your own adventure ride through diverse terrain amongst the stunning forests, bridges across vista’s and lakes, twisty dirt road and gravel roads. Halfway through the Saturday ride, we’ll stop back at the campsite for a scrumptious lunch. We’ll discuss challenges along the route and techniques that helped. Don’t forget to bring your cameras—this is a perfect opportunity to take shots along the gorgeous route. Come back from your epic day of riding to a big dinner back at the campsite, albeit with new friends and fond memories. Adventure motorcycle traveler, Dan T Moore, will be presenting on his harrowing tales trotting across Africa, from the world’s largest sand dunes. Sunday- Wake up to another delicious breakfast at the campsite and get ready for another half day route for the way home. For those who need a little more dirt therapy before heading home, this route offers some of the best terrain the Olympic Peninsula has to offer, while still taking you back to Highway 101.
