The AltRider Cylinder Head Guards are made from lightweight formed 5052 aluminum with a stylish grain finish, featuring domed contours and embossed AltRider logos. The cylinder head guards feature a difficult to manufacture but easy to install snap-fit hem design with sturdy 304 stainless steel custom cast clamps. The formed hem, in conjunction with the AltRider cast stainless steel clamp, ensures a secure fit and prevents the guards from ripping off as is possible with other designs. The cylinder head guards, combined with the AltRider Reinforcement Bars, give the OEM crash bars all the support they need giving you the best protection the OEM crash bar base can provide.

Best option on the market.

I purchased a set for my GSA to replace my existing Ricochet head guards. I was very impressed with the level of quality in the mounting hardware let alone the overall design. Ricochet uses 3 different mounting points while utilizing a “conduit clamp” style single bolt design, making it challenging to hold in place when bolting down or removing the guard. It also creates a lot of leverage against the single bolt clamping it down. The Altrider design has the guard wrapping around the top and front of the OEM crash bars and uses an opposing 2 bolt clamp design at the bottom. The clamp is at the bottom of the guard itself which minimizes the chance of bold head damage in the event the guard makes contact with the ground. The finish of the Altrider guards has a nice brushed finish with smoother edges and looks like a factory option for your bike. The Ricochet guard has sharp, unfinished edges, and shows tooling marks from the areas that it was shaped to fit the crash bars. Well built, typical Altrider quality.

As with everything from Altrider these BMW GS 1250 GSA guards are the perfect solution for the off roader that wants to save the heads from rock damage. The fit is perfect and design is top notch.
