#FanFriday - Brad Hunter

Spring is here and for much of the country it’s time to wheel the bikes out of the garage and get riding. But for Brad Hunter, 33, of Los Angeles, the riding season is truly all year round. Brad started riding bikes in his 20’s, and has been around them his entire life as his father has ridden multiple BMWs. He currently rides a 2015 BMW R 1200 GSW, a favorite of so many of our fellow adventure bike riders.

“The bike truly does it ‘all’ well,” said Brad. “Sounds cliche, but with it I can put down hundreds - thousands of highway miles with ease, ride twisty canyons like on a sport tourer, and then turn off onto a trail to explore the dirt. All in the same day, all on the same bike.”

When he’s not working his job at a Japanese OEM, Brad can be found exploring all that Southern California has to offer. He’s also taken trips through Idaho, Montana, Utah and Northern California on his trusty R 1200 GSW.

To help him on those journeys, Brad has outfitted his bike with a slew of AltRider parts, including AltRider Lower Crash Bars, Headlight Guard Kit (he swaps out mesh and plexi covers depending on the mission), AltRider Skid Plate, Rear Brake Reservoir Guard, Side Stand Enlarger Foot and AltRider Side Stand Switch Guard.

“The most used items so far have been the crash bars and side stand foot. I’ve had several slow speed ‘get offs’ in the dirt and the crash bars did an excellent job protecting the bike. You guys also have excellent foot rests,” said Brad.

Like every adventure rider, Brad has some bucket list destinations he plans to hit.

“I think every GS owner has an “Alaska Bug” said Brad. “I would also like to do a Baja trip, and spend some more time in the “Wild West” - Wyoming, Idaho and Montana.”

Sounds like we should join him. Wherever your ride takes you, embrace the journey and venture on.
